Oktoberfest Wiesn Traditionally, Oktoberfest Wiesn, the actual blonde lager, urtyp-style beer was brewed and sold exclusively on the Munich Oktoberfest grounds. Now Germans, and their fellow American beer lovers, can celebrate Oktoberfest in true style and flavor. Wiesn beer is approximately 5.8% alcohol by volume, in keeping with the minimum alcohol by volume mandates of the Munich Oktoberfest Regulations. Wiesn is named after the location in which it is served at the Munich Oktoberfest grounds. The grounds are known as Theresa’s Meadows, or in German, “Theresia Weisn.” Thus, the Germans have nicknamed this beer the “Wiesn.” |
